The Shintaro sword was the most famous Samurai sword outside of Japan. It was located in the Hazunaga Asian Museum in London, England. Kazu Tamazaki wanted to return it to its homeland where it belonged as a matter of pride. He tried unsuccessfully to steal it, which resulted in the death of many men and his arrest for breaking and entering.
Sydney and a team from APO managed to steal the sword with the help of Marshall Flinkman. They offered to sell it to Tamazaki, but he instead kidnapped Sydney and tried to steal the sword. Sydney was freed by her sister Nadia who then pursued Tamazaki as he ran. Tamazaki fought them with the sword, but Sydney managed to stab him with it.
