Laura Bristow was the alias assumed by Irina Derevko, a KGB agent, who was ordered to infiltrate the United States and get close to Jack Bristow in order to recover data relating to projects he headed at the CIA.
History[]
She approached Jack Bristow posing as an exchange student from the USSR. They fell in love and were soon married.
Irina's assignment as Laura was to acquire information pertaining to Project Christmas, a CIA operation designed to brainwash American children into being sleeper agents that could later be recruited into the agency.
She was the mother of CIA agents Sydney Bristow and Nadia Santos.
When Sydney was a child, Laura was involved in a fatal car accident. Sydney believed her mother had died, however, it was merely cover for an extraction. Using the accident as cover, Laura was able to return to Russia alongside her handler.
While undercover as Laura Bristow, Derevko also had an affair with then CIA agent Arvin Sloane. Together, they also had a child; Nadia Santos. (Blood Ties)
