História

Tudo começou em 1928 quando a rádio ainda em expansão territorial NBC tinha se divido em duas cadeias independentes: a Blue Network (Rede Azul) e a Red Network (Rede Vermelha). Para evitar um monopólio nas comunicações, a NBC foi obrigada a vender a Rede Azul em 1941. O comprador foi o Sr. Edward J. Noble, fabricante dos doces Life-Savers. Depois da fusão com a Paramount em 1953, a ABC se expandiu na indústria televisiva e se converteu em uma das 3 emissoras de TV mais importantes do mundo, junto com a NBC e a CBS, que formou as "três grandes". Se tornou veterana em transmissões esportiva e cresceu com o vídeotape (ou VT) em 1961. A ABC foi comprada pela Capital Cities Communications em 1985 e pela The Walt Disney Company em 1995 até os nossos dias.

Atualmente, junto com a CBS e a NBC formam o conjunto de emissoras de televisão generalistas que nos anos 1980 tiveram o monopólio da audiência televisiva nos EUA.

The Bachelor vai ser exibida nas noites de segunda-feira de 20:00 às 22:00 horas depois que acabar Dancing With the Stars. E Scrubs e Better Off Ted vão ser exibidas nas noites de terça-feira às 21:00 e 21:30, respectivamente, no lugar 'Dancing with the Stars The Results Show".
